INTRODUCTION
After two years of removing debris, rebuilding, and renovating, Mist Harbor was proud to announce the re-opening of the Eastern Harbor and proposed a celebration of the momentous occasion with a full-blown street festival!
This was designed to be fun for all ages, races, and creeds, the street festival highlights the fun, carefree life of the island.
The festival was scheduled to take place over a two-week period, from the 15th of Phoenatos through the 30th [August 15th to 30th].
The chairman of the festival, Lady Ilsola, had stated her intention to roam the streets and be available for conversations
during the festival.
This was one festival in which I fully intended to participate.
This is a log of the festival activities from my perspective. It is written in chronological order. However links to the main highlights
are provided below if you want to skip to specific sections.

When I sit now and analyse this festival had on me I can see the good and the bad sides.
Negatives
- There were not enough activities from morning to mid-late afternoon. (I should have hunted more admittedly but I didn't want to miss anything)
- With a few notable exceptions, merchants only turned up in the evening. This left a lot of 'dead time'.
- I absolutely hated Ledirth's 'guess where I am' games as intensely as I loved his work.
- I turned into an obsessive merchant junkie!
- I got very little sleep due to timings surviving on no more than three hours a day on average. OOC This is always going to be a problem for UK dwellers. I'll just 'suck it up' as you say across the pond.
Positives
- I met a lot of fantastic people - new friends and old acquaintances - and some of those friendships will be enduring.
- I received 19 separate pieces of work from peripatetic merchants, which was a rate of over 1 a day.
- I won a raffle for some unique dice which was most unexpected, despite the number entered.
- I familiurised myself with the Eastern Harbor - I'm sure that without the festival I would not have taken the time to visit each island.. not for some time at least.
- Ilsola's tour was a fantastic introduction to the Eastern Harbor
- I got to meet many merchants - whom I liked very much
- I got to see my idea for one of the tents actualised and had a NPC character - albeit an elven one - make reference to my contribution. My chest is still puffed with pride!
- I enjoyed participating in the cherry tossing game - even if I did lose. (It was an illegal flick I tell ye!}
- The locker auctions were hilarious and wonderfully controlled by Ilsola. Don't care what's in my box. The event was worth the money in itself! ("Well she has to say that doesn't she!" ::snicker::)
- Meeting the taciturn butler Jenkins and dung slinging gnome Bemm was a singular experience. Very funny!
- Quite simply, I had fun.
