QUIET DAY , THEN LEANNEY - 24th of Phoenatos

I suppose not every day can be exciting. Most of this day I confess, was spent waiting for something to happen. Rawgur appeared very early in the morning offering to undertake work on shields but unfortunately I had already had some of the work undertaken some days before and he was not entertaining the notion of repeating the work or varying it.

Speaking to you, Rawgur exclaims, "Only one per person this time around!"

Speaking to you, Rawgur says, "Sorry, friend."

I trudged back to the beach and sat meditating as only a warrior can do.. and watching Rendana and Vender play with their miniture toys. Bored with this, I went to the festival tent and sat with Sorrowen for a while. The morning dragged on... I should have hunted to add variety.

The afternoon began very much as the morning had started with two notable exception. The first was entering the raffle for enchanting and the second was seeing what Thandiwie looked like for the very first time:

The raffle is for "This raffle is for two people to win one enchanting slot. The item enchanted may not be more than six times enchanted (this means that the item to be enchanted may be anywhere from 0 - 6 times enchanted) and the fee for ther service will be negotiated at the time the work is done. ~*~ Ilsola".
The tickets sell for 50000 silvers each.
The drawing will be in 4 hours and 26 minutes for 2 winners

You see GameMaster Thandiwe.
She appears to be an Elf.
She is average height and appears to be very young. She has almond-shaped sea green eyes and fair skin.
She has waist length, golden blonde hair with auburn highlights worn in twin linen-wrapped braids.
She has a narrow face and high cheekbones that accent the sharp curve of her thin ears.
She has a light zephyr wrapped around her that is riddled with pale cherry and orange blossoms.
She is in good shape.
She is wearing a carved white birch circlet wrapped in ebon and rosette ribbons, a rune-embossed pendulum pouch, a blossom-carved white birch amulet, a silver-strung crystal flower pendant, a diminutive demijohn hanging from twisted twine, a bead-edged gauzy linen surcote, a small lighthouse pin, a slender silver watch, an alum-boned ebon suede bodice, an eahnor crimson marbrinus gown descending into blazestar-beaded skirts, a narrow swordbelt of glossy navy blue leather, a wide ebon silk sash with white birch and morganite beads, and a pair of ankle-tied sandals.

Thandiwe gestures and a shaft of scintillating light from somewhere above pierces the ceiling and engulfs her. When the light recedes Thandiwe is no longer there.

However from there the day improved rapidly in terms of activity. Firstly Rogue Vemeon stayed behind after the drawing of a raffle in 'The Rogue Within' to alter lockpicks.

A raspy voice on the wind gets your attention, "Vemeon will be in his shop in the Eastern Harbor after his raffle draws to work on lockpicks from The Rogue Within." The voice fades with a phlegmy cough.

Although I was not selected in the first spin of ten people, he chose to continue his work stopping after me.

Vemeon raspily says, "Well, that seems to be all from my first list."

Ysamine smiles. Vemeon raspily says, "What's say I work for the rest of you, ending here..."

Vemeon points at you!

I purchased the most expensive lockpick in the store and had it tranformed. During the work I heard:

A slurred voice announces, "Ledirth is by a large anchor in Mist Harbor, and will be making your things lighter or sewing deeper pockets into your containers for 1 hour, and 1 hour only.

After receiving my work from Vemeon I rushed to Ledrith outside the Firefly Villa and had my shield lightened. Directly after this I moved to the Harbor Bistro to listen to Leanney talking. I only caught snippets of the conversation and did not understand it all. However she appeared to be recounting tales from Graewood Festival.

>l lean
You see Maiden Leanney.
She appears to be a Human from Honneland.

She is taller than average and appears to be very young. She has silver-flecked crystal blue eyes and ebon skin. She has long, silky mouse brown hair bound in place by a dusty blue handkerchief that protects her herringbone braids. She has a narrow face, a button nose and pouting lips.
She is in good shape.
She is holding an arugula and watermelon salad in her right hand and a flute of fruity white wine in her left hand.
She is wearing a plum-throated blue lotus lily, a silver-strung bright blue marble, a high-collared blue linen leine, a silver-shot triangular hip-sash, a brass-latched brushed doeskin pouch, an ankle-length homespun tan skirt, and a pair of soft suede calf-boots.

Speaking to Leanney, Prion asks, "I could not believe what I read in your letter, a goat, really?"

Leanney nods to Prion.

Leanney says, "It was terrible."

Speaking to Leanney, Prion says, "Disgraceful, his family must be ashamed."

Speaking to Leanney, Cappyn says, "You don't have to talk about it, if you don't want to."

Leanney says, "Its okay, we all thought he was a bit odd in the head."

Leanney says, "And it was a terrible disgrace."

Leanney says, "But I hardly knew him."

Leanney says, "I couldn't have imagined waking up next to a bleat instead of a husband."

Leanney sighs heavily.

Leanney says, "When we were kids, he'd pull my pig tails."

Leanney says, "How can I explain."

Leanney folds her hands in her lap.

Speaking to Silima, Leanney says, "You see... he was the founders only son."

Leanney says, "So he sent him off to schooling in Nydds, at least, I think it was Nydds."

Leanney says, "He was gone for a very, very long time."

Leanney says, "Well, the father was getting on in years and since Graewood was to be left to someone, he organized an enormous festival."

Leanney says, "I mean, the boy girl ratio was terrible."

Speaking to Silima, Leanney says, "Everyone came back and we arranged for carraiges from far and wide to bring folks to us."

Leanney says, "We held all manner of celebrations and fun, it was Spring Festival time anyway."

Leanney says, "And it was announced that he'd be marrying one of us."

Leanney says, "There were four of us."

Leanney says, "I rather knew from the start that I didn't have a chance."

Leanney says, "Some of the other girls were more learned, prettier, more charming."

Leanney says, "So.. on the day we were to hear who he had decided upon...."

Leanney says, "A note was found."

Leanney says, "I love Graewood. ."

Leanney says, "I'm sure I'll go back, but its nice to have visits else where."

Leanney says, "I do still have my shop there."

Leanney says, "And Gran's got to be looked after, too."

Speaking slowly to Silima, Leanney says, "Anyway, he left a note."

Speaking to Leanney, Prion says, "Did she remain in Grawood? She seemed a far more adventurous sort."

Leanney says, "You know, I think she was plotting."

Leanney grins at Prion.

Leanney says, "But I left almost immediately."

Leanney says, "So I'm not sure."

Leanney says, "Well, there was this really neat boat that I took out of River's Rest."

Leanney says, "It had racing roaches."

{I will leave you to piece together the meaning of this conversation. Speaking as one who attended only a few days of the Graewood festival, much of the content of her discussion was a mystry to me.}}

Leanney disappeared for a short while and I took the opportunity to check who had won the latest raffle. On the way I saw Whuid outside the festival tent.

Whuid says, "Good nights all."

Huckster Whuid just went east.

[Eastern Harbor, Pelican Lane]
Flowing between two cottages, the entrance to a small alley is framed by tall lampposts dangling glass and brass lanterns. Soft music and cheery laughter trickles into the street, which is lined with cobbled stones of brilliant white. Standing opposite the alley, a small white-columned store has an elegant sign positioned above its entry that is painted with a bright blue pelican.
Also here: Cimmorina, Huckster Whuid

You fling yourself against Whuid with childish glee!
Cimmorina giggles.

Cimmorina says, "Aww the little one made me one too."

Cimmorina giggles.
Cimmorina hugs Whuid.
Cimmorina says, "I am going to have nice Whuid dreams tonight."

Cimmorina gazes in awe at a cloud-etched diamond in her hand.

You softly say, "Awww and I thought I was ye one and only."

Whuid giggles.

Cimmorina exclaims, "This is a special diamond!"

Whuid tickles you.

Cimmorina says, "My Whuid souvenir."

Whuid exclaims, "Well ya tolds err!"

Whuid says, "Wat ya expect."

Cimmorina says, "You did."

Cimmorina giggles.
Whuid tickles you
. Whuid waves.

Whuid says, "Night ya twos."

Cimmorina gently takes hold of your hand.

Cimmorina says, "Good night."

You softly say, "Night dear."

Cimmorina says, "Whuid gets sleep."

Cimmorina rubs Whuid.

Cimmorina waves to Whuid.
Whuid vanishes in a puff of smoke.

We moved back to the Bistro in time to see Leanney return.

Leanney says, "So here's what I'm going to do...."

Leanney says, "Then, when I come to visit you, I will deliver them as a gift."

Speaking to Leanney, Baru asks, "Perhaps a sample of your work for one or two so we can see what it does?"

Leanney pulls a quill out of her pouch and begins to write on the back of her crisp white paper.

Leanney says, "It will help me remember, in years to come, the artist and the gathering."

Leanney says, "I think, when I get home, I'll frame it and put it on my wall."

Leanney licks the end of her quill and continues to write as she speaks.

Leanney says, "I'm sure some of you are a bit disappointed, but I think this will be much more fun. Now I have all your names and I can find where you live and bring you special items."

Leanney carefully dots the last i on her page and turns it over to inspect the the other side.

Leanney says, "Good, you can't see the names."

Leanney says, "I'm going to frame this in my living room after the tour is over."

Leanney exclaims, "What a fabulous momento I'll have!"

(OOC) Leanney's player whispers to the group, "Jeril, I think I should probably have you at arms length. I'm sorry for the OOC, but here's what I'm going to do. Start in September, Leanney is going to travel around to visit each town. When there, she'll deliver a gift cloth to each of you on my list. I will not be working for anyone else on the first day of my visit. I'm not going to do work now, I have some other raffles to set up, but you guys have been alot of fun to role play with tonight and I've enjoyed it."

Leanney says, "I should start arranging some travel plans.... this is going to be a long trip."
