personal - GemStone IV interview with marni
Interview held on Tilamaires, the 20th day of Eorgaen, in the year 5111
QUESTIONS
1: What is your name (required) and training level (not essential)
Marni i'Areta (currently level 70)
2: How long have you wandered the lands?
I was born in the year 5076 in the Barony of Jantalar. In 5103, after the death of my mother, I began
wandering through the lands, and at the urging of some Dwarves I met along the way, I came to Wehnimer's
Landing in 5105.
3: What hunting style do you opt for?
I use a shield to help protect myself, and then fight either with a blade (mostly my longsword) or my own body,
particularly in the barehanded style taught through the Voln Monestary.
4: What percentage of your time do you spend hunting? How do you spend your other time?.
For the last long while, I spend little time hunting, except when I need to practice my Berserk skills for the Warrior Guild.
Other time is spent caring for my children while seeing to the business of helping to run the House of Paupers.
5: What is and/or was your most enjoyable hunting area and why?
I haven't had a truly unenjoyable hunting experience, because if I don't like an area, I don't stay long. I am a little
saddened to have recently left the depths of Darkstone, now that the Troll Kings suffer a certain slaughter by my hand,
and am looking forward to when the Labyrinth in Thanatoph doesn't mean a more certain death to myself...
6: What do you enjoy most about your time in the lands?
I have enjoyed honing my skills as a fighter, but the most important thing is the people I have met and creating a new family.
7: Is there anyone within the lands that you admire? (Any profession) Who and why?
Sadly, I've recently seen some of my heroes fall from that status, having been exposed to their true nature. But I do admire all those who continue to
try to make their way and become a bit of a god among us mortals..
8: What has been your best moment in the lands so far?
When the Voln Monestary recognized me as a Master of the Order, and when I became a Master within the Warrior Guild.
9: What has been your worst moment in the lands so far?
Learning the truth behind my heroes.
10: What advice would you give to a new warrior?
Persevere, and keep faith.
11: If you had to do it all again, knowing what you now know, would you do anything differently?
Nothing. There is a path we all must walk, and the path chooses us as much as we choose the path.
12: Is there anything you want to add to this interview?
I'd like to see some of the results!
