Interview with Jeril

Interview held on Feastday, day 6 of the month Charlatos in the year 5110

QUESTIONS

[Mud Baths, Pool]
A continuous, circular stone wall surrounds this pool, which is filled with smooth, warm mud deep enough to sink a dwarf to the neck. Beneath the mud, the wall slopes gently, ending below the pool's terraqueous floor. You also see a set of stone steps.

Also here: Jeril Obvious exits: none

Jeril flings mud all over you!
Jeril whistles tunelessly to himself.
Jeril says, "Couldn't help myself."
You chuckle.

You softly say, "Ok question number 1. Your name. What do you go by."

Jeril exclaims, "Thats a hard one! Jeril mostly. Some people refer to me as Trouble." You softly say, "And this is the one question that you don't have too answer. How many times have you visited the trainer."

Jeril says, "I'm capped."

You softly ask, "Excellent - so you are what is generally called 'an old fart'? Is that a fair summary?"

You grin at Jeril.

Jeril says, "Happened end of last November, aye, I try and avoid the term because it doesn't really fit."

Speaking softly to Jeril, you say, "Am disappointed ye nay had a celebration... you know me...anything for a glass of ale. Not that I need an excuse."

Jeril says, "I was in Icemule at the time."

You softly say, "Ahhh. Well that's excuseable then."

You grin.
Jeril chuckles.

You softly ask, "Second question - How long have you wandered the lands?"

Jeril says, "Its been three years and eight months about."

You softly ask, "What hunting style do you opt for?"

Jeril says, "I mostly use a maul to the head when I can, and kick undead if possible. Its not the only style I've used, but its what I use now."

You softly ask, "Ok then What percentage of your time do you spend hunting? How do you spend your other time?"

Jeril says, "You know I am not really sure, it seems to change quite a bit lately."

Jeril rubs his chin thoughtfully.

Jeril says, "But if I am not hunting I an normally standing around socializing somewhere, maybe in the forge, or helping someone a bit less well trained with something."

You softly say, "As someone who has recently discovered forging and my dwarven roots I can certainly relate to the forge work."

Jeril says, "Slow going but I'd like to be able to make my own weapons some day."

You agree with Jeril.

You softly say, "Just learning two handed skill" Jeril says, "I'm still working on that skill, but I don't spend as much time in the forge as you do."

You grin at Jeril.
Jeril grins at you.
You softly say, "I am a dwarf of addictions."

Jeril chuckles.
You softly say, "I focus on a thing and am not deflected."

Jeril says, "I have quite a few things I want to work on though, so I mix them.

You softly say, "Ok then for the next question if ye ready."

Jeril says, "I'm always ready."

Jeril looks at you and hums.
You grin.

You softly ask, "What is and/or was your most enjoyable hunting area and why?"

Jeril says, "I have enjoyed hunting in many places, but the most enjoyable time was probably fire mages here on teras."

You grin at Jeril.

You softly say, "Ooo fire mages. Why them?"

Speaking to you, Jeril says, "I've had quite a bit of fun, its why it took me so long to cap."

You grin at Jeril.
Jeril grins at you.

Speaking interestedly to Jeril, you say, "So what particularly did you find fun about the fire mages? They always seemed frightening to me when younger."

Speaking to you, Jeril says, "I like them because of the company I had here at the time and I could drag a certain someone with me when I hunted them. She was much to inexperienced to be there in the first place but I made it work. Took a while though, she died a fair bit at first. But I didn't want to leave her while I hunted and she didn't want to be left, so thats how it was."

You smile at Jeril.

You softly ask, "So if you were asked, as I am asking now, Is there anyone within the lands that you admire? (Any profession) Who and why?" Can be past or present."

Jeril leans forward and rests his chin in his hand, a thoughtful expression on his face.

You softly say, "That's always a hard one - lot of folk I like and have learned from. But I struggled to think of folk I admired...not because I didn't but because i never really thought of them in terms of admiration." You smile at Jeril.

Jeril says, "Aye."

You softly say, "If that's the same for you then that's sufficient."

Jeril nods to you.

You softly ask, "Then onto the next... What has been your best moment in the lands so far?"

You softly say, "Only four more questions after that one."

Jeril says, "The time I spent here on Teras with the lass I mentioned earlier. We had gotten quite a few comments for our displays of affection from the locals." They never saw the half of it though, which always made me chuckle inside

You grin at Jeril.
You fan yourself.
You softly say, "I won't ask for details."

Jeril grins at you.
You chuckle.
Speaking softly to Jeril, you say, "Perhaps I 'should' ask for details."

You grin at Jeril.
Jeril starts chuckling at you!

You softly ask, "Well if that was the best moment - what about the worst? Can you think of one moment that, if you could turn the sundial back, you would wish had never happened?"

Jeril says, "The worst would be when I broke things off with the woman I had married."

You glance over at Jeril and wince.

Speaking understandingly to Jeril, you say, "Emotional breakups are the worst."

You agree with Jeril.
Jeril adopts an agreeable expression.

Speaking softly to Jeril, you ask, "Can you ever see yourself getting married again?"

Speaking softly to Jeril, you say, "And this is now a proposal."

You softly say, "Ack - I mean 'not'...not now."
Jeril starts chuckling at you!

Jeril says, "It wouldn't be the first time a woman has asked me to marry her."

Speaking to you, Jeril says, "Its possible, but it won't happen for a good many years if it does."

You softly say, "I once told someone that I would marry them when hell froze over - two weeks later the Icemule settlement was formed."

You chuckle.
Jeril laughs at you!
You softly say, "Talk about bad timing."

Jeril exclaims, "Good timing!"

You softly ask, "Ok third to last question - What advice would you give to a new warrior?"

Jeril says, "I'd tell them to ask questions, find the things they love to do and work hard at their guild skills. I should have asked more questions when I started but I figured it out after a while away, but if I had asked a bit more the road would have been a bit easier."

You softly say, "Ok penultimate question. If you had to do it all again, knowing what you now know, would you do anything differently?"

Jeril says, "I've thought about that one a fair bit and in general not really."

You softly say, "It's good to hear someone who is happy with his path in life. Then onto the final question - this is just a general one."

You softly ask, "Is there anything you want to add to this interview?Anything I have not asked that you want to say"

Jeril says, "I can't really think of anything but who knows, if you think of more questions later though I'd do my best to answer them."

You softly say, "Thanks for your time."
