personal - GemStone IV interview with NAITALYA

Interview with Naitalya

Interview held on  Volnes, day 01 of the month Leyan, in the year 5110.

QUESTIONS

1: What is your name (required) and training level (not essential)

Naitalya Leynier Vaalor

2: How long have you wandered the lands?

I've been around for quite some time. I am one hundred and seventy seven years old.

3: What hunting style do you opt for?

I typically use a zweihander, it was my fathers and is quite special to me. I also sometimes haul out a maul when I'm feeling tetchy.

4: What percentage of your time do you spend hunting? How do you spend your other time?

I actually spend most of my time around Ta'Vaalor with my mate. I help keep the warcamps surrounding the area to a minimum. I have not been permitted to serve as a Squire Legionnaire so I try to keep the citizens of the city safe on my own.

What is and/or was your most enjoyable hunting area and why?

I enjoy anything that will challenge me. I like new places because it gives you a chance to try new tactics.

6: What do you enjoy most about your time in the lands?

I enjoy talking to people. I find the stories that everyone has to be fascinating.

7: Is there anyone within the lands that you admire? (Any profession) Who and why?

I admire any who speak their mind yet are fair and honest. It often bothers me that elves get a bad reputation as being snotty and elitist. We are neither. I was raised in Ta'Illistim and my mother welcomed many people into our home during her work. ( She is a scholar.) And I was raised to offer respect to all, unless they did something to me that made me feel that they did not deserve it. So I admire many people

8: What has been your best moment in the lands so far?

I was gifted a very beautiful and powerful weapon from a close friend of mine. It makes me happy that someone would think of me in that way.

9: What has been your worst moment in the lands so far?

Leaving home to go to Ta'Vaalor. It was my fathers wishes and when he died I felt I had to do what he wanted me to do. I like Ta'Vaalor when things are calm yet they rarely are..

10: What advice would you give to a new warrior?

Never get frustrated. You will get knocked down, you will get beat up but every single wound you receive is a testament to who you will eventually become. There is no dishonor in falling, there is only dishonor in giving up.

11: If you had to do it all again, knowing what you now know, would you do anything differently?

I wouldn't do a single thing differently in my life. Everything I am and everything I have done will shape me into a strong soldier

12: Is there anything you want to add to this interview?

I am pleased that someone is taking the time to speak to and interview us folk. So many people have so many stories and many of them are quite interesting and could teach people a lot. Getting that information out there is good for the Lands.
