Over the years I have been to so many weddings, festivals and other gatherings that have been no more than a footnote in my diaries.
I have decided to record these events from this time forward so that
there is a formal record for posterity. When memory fails, the written word
will prevail! On occasion, I will record my own feelings ( i.e.
those of Bremerial's alter ego) along with Bremerial's own thoughts.
NB: OOC - Any logs included will be published using notepad which should make the information accessible to most.

INTRODUCTION
In 5111 and 5112 the notion of holding the Highman Games in Kharam-Dzu was raised. The Highman Games are
old traditional games traditionally run to allow Highmen to test their physical and mental prowess against other Highmen. Quite
graciously the games were opened up to dwarves in 5010. The proposal was for the games to be held on Dwarven Lands to
repay the hospitality of the Highman clans. Below is some of the correspondence relating to attempts see the Highman Games on
the Island.
5112 Highman Games on Teras Isle? on 12/04/2011 04:25 PM GMT
I may have mentioned this before earlier this year but how about the Highman Games on Teras Isle? If my
calculations are correct it will be the 115th anniversary since the establishment of the settlement which is today
Kharam Dzu. What better reason than to have the Highman Games here next year. I know people seem to like
rounded years to the nearest decade, but I don't see why 115 years isn't as worthy of celebration as 100, 110 or 120.
Highman Games to Kharam-Dzu for 5112 on 12/18/2011 07:01 AM GMT
* Open letter *
To the lovers of the Highman Games everywhere!
We at Kharam-Dzu will be celebrating the 115th year of our formation in the year 5112. As
you can imagine we are incredibly excited and proud of this landmark. Dwarves from all around the realm
were kindly invited to attend the wonderful Highman Games. It was indeed a great honour - one that we would
like to reciprocate, by hosting those games at Kharam-dzu.
I hope that you will all support our endevour. Please petition those with the power to bring this about.
Thank you in advance for your support.

Having recently taken over as the Giantkin guru, the Highman Games originally spearheaded by GM Talisker
is on my list of things to revisit. Where or when I can't commit yet, but it's on my list for goals.

Whoo hoo! Thanks for the response. Totally appreciate that you can't commit to anything. Just consider me your
friendly lobbyist, keeping Kharam-dzu in the forefront of minds when if comes to the decision making process - hehe.
Just makes sense to me to have a coming together of the two things.. killing two elves with one stone.. (sorry.. I meant birds!)
Anyway, thanks mate for the response. Really appreciated.

It saddens me to announce that the Highman Games scheduled for Dec 2012 has been canceled, and rescheduled for 2013.
We're still ironing out some date ideas, based on other 2013 activities, etc, and will keep you all informed. Timing wasn't
working in our favor to get everything done in a quality fashion, but it's still our goal to see Highman Games return!

Re: Highman Games on 11/26/2012 11:40 PM GMT
I personally can live with that, especially since the quality of events both paid and free has been very good in the last
few years. The extra time I hope will make it another great success. Of course a free one is always better, but great
either way. I hope an elven and or human version of such is still in the works also, and are we going to see the
traditional halfling festival anytime in the future?

The Highman Games Return! on 03/02/2013 12:38 AM GMT
I'm pleased to announce the return of the Highman Games. The official games will run from Friday, April 5th
to Sunday, April 7th, though the grounds will be open until Friday, April 12th. The festivities will run in both Prime and
Platinum during this time. In accordance with tradition, everyone is encouraged to compete in the games, but only
Giantmen and Dwarves are able to register official scores and be eligible for prizes. A schedule of games will be forthcoming.
And I'm especially proud to announce that Kharam Dzu will be hosting the Highman Games this year. Transport to and from
Teras Isle (including level limit) will be adjusted at an appropriate time in preparation for the games. I will be posting more
details about the Highman Games soon.

Yeah! Seeing the schedule in black and white suddenly makes is real. Thanks Aiza and Kenstrom. Free Travel to Teras.
If anyone needs cash to pay for a ticket for the boat trip, please let me know. I can get it to you in the Landing or just
reimburse you on arrival on the day. Will be wonderful to see you all on Teras.
Please contact me at the event or via email if needed. Don't be shy. Can't think of a way I'd rather spend money...
except to buy ale perhaps. :D
