Greetings! I am very happy to bring to you the next contest for Mist Harbor! I call it the Feeeeesh-et Contest! Here is the contest: Design a Fish * Design up to two (2) fish for Mist Harbor - Anything more than two (2) will not be accepted and will disqualify participants. * Fish must have the following: 1. A real world reference (If it is incredibly rare please provide a link). 2. A fish must meet the 15/15/15 rule (I'm going to be strict on this). 3. Each fish must have a description that does not exceed 500 characters. (Yes, I know 511 is generally the rule, but this is my need for this contest. Sorry!) 4. Two (2) taste messages. They can either be for raw fish or for cooked fish. (Please remember when writing food messaging that you don't want to invoke feeling from the person eating it, you don't want to instill an opinion, and (my preference) nothing that would be exclaimed. (i.e.: That's a lot of nuts!) * Contest Deadline: All Entries must be in by March 27th by Midnight. * Submission: 1. Make sure when you submit your entry that you do so by placing the following in the title: Thandiwe's Feeeesh-et Contest 2. I look forward to reading your entries! ~*~ Thandiwe ~*~ _________________________________________________________ SUBMISSIONS A venomous long-spined lionfish This exotically beautiful fish displays vivid striped markings along it's back as it glides lazily through the water. Venomous dorsal spines splay defensively and then contract, giving it a startling appearance. Large elaborate fins with a shimmering red hue are attached to it's elongated body. The body attracts tiny air bubbles giving it an almost luminescent quality. Message 1: The unseasoned moist raw fillet is succulent, with a soft texture and a distinctly earthy flavour Message 2: The white fleshy meat has a soft muddy flavour that works well with the salty fish (RAW) A Jeweled Moray Eel Writhing and twisting upon itself, the Moray eel reveals flashes of a beautiful glistening dark brown body, with white patterned markings upon its upper surface. On the underside occasional flashes of gold spots can be seen, intermittently dispersed. Fused front and rear fins given the appearance of a single strand of translucent membrane running the length of its body. A gaping maw brandishes menacing razored teeth.. Message 1: The raw rough textured flesh of the eel has a moderate fishy flavour with a salty after-taste Message 2: Salty liquid oozes from the fish, the juice complimenting the delicate flavour of the dark, somewhat oily flesh. (RAW) An elongated high-finned Dragonette Flattened and scaless, this brown fish has a series of six yellow blothes on it's side. Three symetrical white stripes adorn it's elongated dorsal fin, with indistinct red stripes marking the fin to the rear. Two bulbous eyes sit upon a trangular head and the long jutting jaw gives it a menacing appearance. Message 1: The crunchy backbone has a naturally peppery taste, that does not overwhelm the sweet white meat within. Message 2: Meaty, but delicate in flavour, the fish's delicate crunchy bones are a perfect accompanyment to the succulent raw juicy flesh. (RAW) A black-spotted horn shark Broad, strong fins slowly propel this blunt headed shark through the water. Beautiful elongated striations adorn it's grey-brown body, from square head to strong dorsal fins. Each fin is preceded by a stout spine that projects upwards. A pair of dark luminescent eyes sit below two head ridges. The opening mouth below reveals a row of molar like teeth, with grey discoloration from consumed plants. Message 1: The flesh breaks apart in your mouth, releasing the lemony butter taste infused into the succulently cooked fish Message 2: The full flavour of the shark meat is set off by the simple salt, pepper and lemon seasoning. (COOKED)
